ETHOS & VALUES OF THE SCHOOL

The school has worked with parents, students, teachers and governors to develop a vision that expresses the key purpose of the school.

OUR PURPOSE IS: -
To provide a positive and caring environment, in which all members are valued and respected. Students are encouraged to progress towards their full potential as individuals and are prepared for life as responsible members of the community.

MEDIA ARTS COLLEGE STATUS: -
The school has specialist status as a Media Arts College.

This means that:-

• We have enhanced facilities and staffing to develop the use of digital media to improve the quality of teaching and learning within the school.
  
  
• We are committed to achieving higher standards for all subjects as a result of improving teaching and learning by the use of digital media.
  
  
• In subjects where the use of digital media is particularly effective in improving teaching and learning we expect standards to be even higher than the rest of the school. The subjects are, English Literature, Media Studies, Art and Design, Music and Graphics in Design Technology.
  
  
• We share our expertise with other schools in the area.
  
  
• We have curriculum that extends beyond the " normal school day" that is available to our students in all local schools and members of the community.
