Why would I need the help of a learning mentor?
We
all try our best to achieve success but sometimes we feel under
pressure and unable to cope. Some of the issues a Mentor can help you
with:
Lack of Confidence and Low Self-esteem
Relationship Difficulties
Organisational Skills
Bullying Issues
Study Techniques
Exam and Study Stress
Family Issues
Friendship Issues
Making an appointment with a learning mentor
You
can personally ask the Learning Mentor for an appointment or your Year
Head or From Tutor can make an appointment on your behalf.
Once
a referral is made the Learning Mentor and the student will meet on a
regular basis to identify the areas that need addressing.
Once all options have been considered, an agreed action plan or targets will be formulated and work on the issues will begin.
The Learning Mentor and the student will work together until the desired outcome is achieved.
What about confidentiality?
Your
Mentor will keep what you say in confidence. However, if you say you
are being harmed by another person or are harming yourself or others,
then your Mentor will discuss their concerns with the appropriate
people.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
